  • Between 2018 and 2023, the Fund has provided 65 small grants (between $5,000 and $15,000) to local councils, community groups, and non-profit organisations. These grants have enabled a wide range of initiatives, including intergenerational dance programmes, sewing workshops, dementia-friendly services, and maraebased events promoting health and education. The evaluation—led by Professor Stephen Neville (University of the Sunshine Coast), Dr Jo Conaglen (AUT), and Dr Jeffrey Adams (Eastern Institute of Technology)—concluded that the Fund “is performing excellently, with a strong positive impact.” It highlighted how dedicated community leaders and volunteers are the driving force behind the Fund’s success.
