Grants now available for community projects that support older people
Applications are now open for the Office for Seniors' Age-friendly Fund.
Grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 are available for community projects that support older people to participate in, contribute to, and stay connected with their communities. Applications close on 30 September 2026.
Funding for local projects
The Age-friendly Fund supports projects that help communities respond to the needs of older people.
Projects might focus on social connection, digital confidence, community participation, access to information and services, or other initiatives that help communities better prepare for an ageing population.
Targeted support for councils
For the first time, $40,000 has been set aside for councils developing age-friendly policies, strategies, or action plans. This funding recognises the important role councils play in planning communities that work well for people of all ages.
Who can apply?
Applications are open to:
- councils
- community organisations
